Even if not in common knowledge, the use of permutations in music have a long story.

Starting from Kircher ( and maybe before ) and arriving to modernity through the monumental work of J.Schillinger the application of permutations concept in music and, in particular, in improvised music,  finds its final approach in the Jazz Permutation Master ( JPM).

The JPM is a series of tools for discovering specific permutations that can be used in the right musical context of the moment.

The primary tool is the JPM printed edition, available at the moment only from the author himself (Gabriele D’Angela).
